Lately I've started to feel inspired to work on writing again in a more serious way than jotting in a journal or scribbling a bit on a piece of paper or index card when the spirit moves me. My husband inspires me a lot. He is doing the hard work of finishing a novel he's been working on for a long time.
And it is good.
Awhile back, I started writing in earnest on a novel I wrote in my head many years ago. I didn't think about whether it was good or not. I didn't craft sentences. I just wrote and wrote and wrote, filling up a good three notebooks with ink. I assembled all the notebooks last week, started re-reading what I've got so far.
Some of it isn't bad.
I spent a couple hours Saturday evening typing scenes up, starting to organize this work I've done so I can get back to it, shape it, craft some of those sentences and turn it into something I can be proud of, and maybe...just maybe...
...finish it?
