Waiting
June 08, 2008

It is nearly 11:00 p.m., and I am waiting for my little brother and his family to make the long, long trek from Texas to Michigan. He called a few moments ago, and he expects another five hours should do the trick.

I only want them to arrive safely, however long it takes, and I am thrilled that they are within a few hours of arriving, that we'll be together soon, having fun, making memories.

All day, I've been working on getting the house in shape for their visit, washing clothes, some of which are still drying, making beds, sweeping floors, washing dishes, vacuuming stairs, and the long list goes on. Daniel helped so much, and I am full, so utterly full, of gratitude tonight because I've got the best husband, an awesome little brother and sister-in-law who are enduring far too many hours on the road to come see me.

Without decent coffee, I might add. Try traveling through Tennessee or Kentucky and finding even one Starbucks. Can't be done. We've tried it. Okay...there's a Starbucks in Bowling Green, Kentucky, but getting to it is nigh impossible.

Fortunately, they'll have several local Starbucks to choose from when they arrive.

And now, I go back to waiting and sleeping while I wait...
