At last, Spring. We are in the midst of a good old fashioned Spring thunderstorm, and it's been raining or gloomy most of the day.
My favorite kind of weather.
I've been sick since last Sunday evening, feeling so badly, I didn't want to do much of anything, though I did force myself out of the house on Thursday and spent the day slogging through my favorite stores, getting some shopping done. I just couldn't stand being cooped up anymore.
Last night, I went out with Daniel, but I was still not feeling well most of the evening. I wanted so badly to have fun with my sweetheart, but I simply wasn't up to it yet, so after a bit of shopping the sales at my favorite local scrapbook store and browsing Barnes and Noble, Daniel took me for a bite to eat, and we came home.
Today, I've been a little more spry, a little less weighted down with the malaise of whatever virus has been wreaking havoc on my system. I'm actually feeling better, and I spent a good deal of time this afternoon in my scrapping studio/guest room, playing with paper.
First, I finished up some Spring cards I was working on, using a fairly new design line from Making Memories called Chloe's Closet. Most of my supplies were bought with a gift card I got from my niece last December for the holidays. Thanks, Olivia! Here is the inspiration for the cards I made, most of which look about the same as on the website. A couple I had to improvise because I didn't have exactly the same supplies as were used by the Making Memories designer.
After I finished the cards, I spent a few minutes cutting out butterflies from a piece of patterned paper from the Making Memories Flower Patch collection. I'm going to use the butterflies as embellishments, and I paid about $1.00 for the paper, so I'm going to get a lot of bang for that buck.
Earlier this week, I came across a blog article about using paper scraps to make flowers for scrapbook pages. I decided to try my hand at it, using some scraps leftover from a Scenic Route paper kit I got awhile back. I used it to make a zoo book for Olivia and for a mini book of our camping weekend last Summer. I had lots of scraps left, little bits that worked really well for making little flowers.
I used them on a card, check it out:
Feels great to get back into paper crafting after such a long hiatus. Okay...it was only a week, but still.
