I just came in from our back yard. The air is sweet, tender, the breeze luscious. This kind of cool weather in July is unheard of in Texas, and I am so deeply grateful for it, even while I continue to feel the distance between me and my family profoundly.
I took two strolls around our neighborhood today, one in the morning, before my sojourn to the laundromat, the other after lunch, which we ate after I took a fall down the stairs. No major injuries, thankfully. I banged my hip pretty good, and scratched my shoulder on the handrail. Walking this afternoon, I felt a sense of peace and delight in the world around me, the air so pleasant, the sunshine bright, the trees so green and luscious.
There's that word again.
My life is bliss.

I had the opportunity to be a contributor to one of Eric Maisel's blogs, and I jumped at the chance. You can read my first post here. I'm really excited to be part of this, and I hope to post there once a week. Check it out and let me know what you think.
