Layouts for February 27 and 28
February 28, 2009

Yesterday was a busy day, and I was not home for most of it, so I didn't get the layout posted here. Not one of my favorites, but the pictures are still cute, and I gotta love the jolliness of Pooh.

Take a look.

Today's layout is an idea I've had for quite awhile. As with the rest of the layouts for this challenge, I went for simple. I like simple because it lets the photos speak for themselves.

Here's the last of my Layout a Day challenge pages:

When I first heard about this challenge, I thought it would be too hectic of a schedule to keep up with. Life intervenes and can lay the best laid plans to ruin. I didn't want to make a commitment I couldn't keep.

But I changed my mind because I liked the idea of attempting a layout every single day for one month. The worst that could happen was I didn't finish it. So what? I was only beholden to myself, really. Turns out, it wasn't as difficult as I thought to keep up the pace, and it taught me to think on my feet, to cultivate creativity, to show up even when I didn't feel like creating.

These are valuable lessons.

And a hearty thanks to Lain Ehmann, the leader of this challenge, for getting me inspired to test myself and create so many great scrapbook pages. I like them all, but the ones of Olivia are my favorite just because of who she was then, and who she is now. Thanks also to the women who made such kind comments on my layouts. I was just floored by the response I received.

In the course of completing this challenge, I've also begun to think about a new blog that would be an arena for me to talk about just scrapbooking. Not sure how that's going to come together. I'm still thinking...
