Didn't get much sleep last night. About five hours, maybe. Over the weekend, Daniel and I prepared for our guests, and one of the things we did was trim the hedge. Well, Daniel did the trimming, and I helped gather up the trimmed branches and put them in bags, which involved a lot of bending over.
Today, I've got pain in my side and shoulder. Hard pain. Don't know if it's a pinched nerve or what the hell the problem is, but it's not the first time. I had the same pain last time I did yard work, but I also dragged a rollaway bed up carpeted stairs.
It frustrates me. I'm not good with limitations. One of those life lessons I just haven't mastered yet, acceptance of what I cannot change. I guess I'm just not ready to accept that being forty means I cannot do simple things like yard work without pain.
Then again...buying wine this evening, I got carded. Yeah. Me. Two days shy of forty years old, and the cashier thought that I looked "30 or younger."
Oh yeah, baby.
In other news, my little brother, his wife, and their daughter arrived safely, and we had a great day together. I'm happy, even with the limitations.
For now.
