On this very day over four decades ago, two people took a second chance on marriage, and their love--steadfast, delightful, eternal--inspired their daughter to wait for the right man to create a similar marriage, one that sustains and nourishes and excites and surprises me every day.
I am thankful that I grew up with two people who loved each other with a tender ferocity that withstood many turbulent circumstances. Their love, their commitment, taught me how to do it right, how to learn from my mistakes when I don't.
This day will always be special to me.
