Daniel and I journeyed to Indianapolis for the weekend. We were honored and delighted to attend the wedding of two great friends. Even more of an honor for me was to participate by doing a reading.
Being at weddings always reminds me of my own wedding, and on the way home, Daniel and I listened to a CD of music from our wedding. Some of the songs still make me cry joyful tears.
Life at 40 would be so, so different without Daniel. While I would have tried to live well without him, my life is more complete and much more meaningful and joyful with him by my side.
Seeing our friends begin their lives together really reminded me of that, not that I ever forget it, really.
Got a chance to leave some of my worries behind and enjoy myself. Daniel and I got to dance at the wedding to "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel, and it reinforced my thought that we don't get to dance nearly often enough.
Got to spend time with Daniel's grandmother today and hear some of her memories, which always makes me remember to savor the moments of my own life.
Great weekend, all the way around.
