My friend Eli tagged me to do a list of my top ten idiosyncrasies, so here it is.
1. I easily recognize poor grammar in books and magazines and correct it in my own mind.
2. When I am asked how to spell a word, I do it like I did in spelling bees. I say the word, spell it, then say the word again.
3. When I'm paying cash for something, I always tell the clerk, "Out of (fill in denomination of bill)." My Dad did this, and I picked up the habit.
4. When I meet people for the first time, I hold out my hand to shake theirs. Most people don't do this anymore.
5. I sing a lot and sometimes make up songs about the people I love.
6. Even though I have two different receptacles for change in my purse, I almost never take time to place coins in them. I drop change in the bottom of my purse instead.
7. When I eat citrus fruits, I usually cut open the segments and eat the fruit out of those, discarding the skin. For some reason I cannot fathom, this used to irritate my older brother.
8. I rarely eat ketchup.
9. I find it very difficult to sit and watch television without doing something else, whether it's knitting, reading during commercials, checking email and websites. I don't feel quite comfortable just paying attention to whatever's on the television screen.
10. I keep most of what people send me. Letters especially. Cards and notes. I am a bit of a pack rat. Another thing I inherited from my father.
Okay...not the best list, but that's the best I can do, and I didn't want to keep procrastinating. Let's see...I'm going to tag anyone that's reading this that hasn't already been tagged by reading Eli's blog. Except for my husband. He can consider himself double-tagged.
