Gimme Five
October 30, 2008

I've been taking this awesome scrapbooking design class through Big Picture Scrapbooking. Taught by one of my favorite scrapbook designers, the fun and hilarious and totally talented Cathy Zielske, the class is called Design Your Life, and I am learning just a ton of great design principles and how to incorporate them into my hobby/art.

One of last week's assignments, called Gimme Five, involved getting people to jot down five words or statements to describe themselves. Some of you reading this were recruited to help me out--and if I didn't ask you to participate, please don't take it personally: my brain was simply too scattered to remember everyone.

So, I promised my assignment participants that I would post the results, here. I want to say one word about the images. They were digitized on our trusty old scanner/printer/copier/fax machine, and I'm not all that great at scanning just yet, so forgive the quality of the scans if they aren't to your liking.

Without further ado--because damn, LaLa, some people would like to see the freakin' pages already!--the finished assignment:

Also, if anyone else wants to participate, just drop me an email, and I'll add you to my very cool mini-book.

(Fine print: the copyright on the design of these pages is owned by Big Picture Scrapbooking and Cathy Zielske.)

In Other News

Tomorrow is the last day of October already. Sheesh! That month went fast. I think I've been chasing my tail for the past 30 days or so. See, and you fine folks didn't even know I have a tail!

Anyway, this morning, as I was drinking coffee and catching up on blogs, I decided to do a special blog project for the month of November, all about how much I have to celebrate in my life. I'm going to take a cue from this project I just completed and write down five things about my life that I love every day in November.

Challenging, no?

Oh, yeah. I do love a challenge.

And I'll post the lists here so I can share them with you and hopefully inspire some of my peeps to make the next month all about celebrating life.

I'll also incorporate the daily thankfulness into a mini-album. (You knew I couldn't resist making this about scrapbooking in some way, right?) And I'll post pictures of it when it's done.

Yeah, really I should be focusing on being thankful all the time, and I do, but I want to turn up the focus a bit in honor of our culture's celebration of Thanksgiving in November.

Anyone care to join me?
