I think Shawn can just about shut the hell up, don't you?
Just what I needed at the end of a strange and stressful week, to feel old.
On the bright side, Corey Hart, who I've adored since I heard "Sunglasses at Night" the very first time, made the list. Gotta love that. I just wish he were still making music and touring.
Don't gotta love how it was pointed out that the 1980's, the decade of my youth, was ending twenty years ago.
Oh, thanks for that.
I was at my favorite local scrapbook store yesterday afternoon--not buying stuff for myself for a change--and the store's radio was on a 1980's station. I was singing along and boogeying a little bit. (Yes, me dancing around the scrapbook store was precious, thank you.) I said to a fellow shopper, who was also singing along just a bit to "Higher Love" by Stevie Winwood, "I don't even want to think about how old I was when this song came out." She laughed and said, "I was trying to think, what grade was I in?"
Looks like I'm not the only one. Which, by the way, was the title of a Laura Branigan song, the flip side of the single "Solitaire." If you're not feeling old enough yet, let me point out that most, if not all, people under the age of 20 in this country don't know what "flip side" even means.
